Almighty God inspired John to write one of the accounts of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. It appears in the New Testament of the Bible. It’s interesting that in this account, when Jesus makes declarations of who He is, they begin with “I AM” which is the name of God revealed to Moses in the Old Testament. That name carries great power and it was evident the day a mob came to arrest Jesus. When they made it known they were looking for Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus simply said, “I AM He,” and they stepped back and fell to the ground. Jesus had unsurpassed power and it was obvious He was willingly submitting to torture and crucifixion, all because He loved His people so very much, and He was sacrificing Himself to suffer the punishment for our sinful condition. What amazing love!
