THE NARROW GATE

“Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it. Matthew 7:13-14 CSB

“Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6 CSB

I (Jesus) am the gate. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will come in and go out and find pasture. A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.” John 10:9-10 CSB

The wide gate with bright lights and all kinds of distractions looks really fun and more appealing on the surface. It opens into a broad path that provides temporary excitement and promises of good—promises of all that appeals to human nature. Those promises prove to be empty and the path leads to destruction.

The narrow gate opens into a path that leads always upward toward our promised eternal home, Heaven. The path may be rough and difficult, but its filled with a deep joy and peace, knowing our entire future is secure in the One who has saved us forever.

And when we arrive at the beautiful gate of Heaven, we’ll be welcomed by many who went before us, and well get to meet Jesus face to face and be held by our Father. Well get to live with them and the Holy Spirit and all Gods family forever in the most astonishingly beautiful and perfect home. God is the true source and the true Giver of everything good. Heaven will be so far beyond anything our hearts and minds could ever imagine. Well forever know perfect love, peace, joy, rest, contentment, relationships, homes, fun—perfect everything! The joy and wonder of it all will probably seem overwhelming.

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

He is such a wonderful, loving Father and Savior!
